A specialist engineering consultancy providing advisory, planning, and delivery services for the construction and property industries.
The brief
This firm had the right security framework and licensing for Microsoft Copilot. However, like many organisations, they were not confident they were getting the full value from it.
They wanted to:
- Improve efficiency in day-to-day tasks
- Understand how Copilot works and where it pulls information from
- Learn practical ways to use AI safely within their existing office suite
- Create alignment across the team on how AI could support their workflows
The solution
Rob and Skye went onsite to deliver a practical, hands-on AI Training session. The session was broken down into two parts.
Part 1: How Copilot works
The workshop began with a clear, practical explanation of:
- How Microsoft Copilot generates responses
- Where it sources information from
- How permissions and security frameworks impact outputs
- What users should and should not expect from AI
This foundational understanding gave the team confidence in using the tools safely and effectively.
Part 2: Practical demonstrations across key apps
- Live demonstrations across Copilot, Outlook, Teams, and Word
- Practical examples and time-saving workflows
- Prompting techniques the team could apply the same day
- Real-time Q&A with scenarios raised by team members
Throughout the session, team members asked real-time questions, discussed common challenges, and workshopped practical solutions. Many were addressed live with demonstrations.
For us, it is all about efficiency. We wanted to learn how to do basic tasks quicker, and how we can get more value from AI now that we have access to the right tools supported by the right security framework.
This session was great for several reasons. Firstly, it forced us to get together as a team and play with the AI tools within the apps that we just do not have time to explore in our day to day. Secondly, this was a great team activity where we took two hours to chat and understand where each team member is using AI to create efficiencies with their work. We will catch up regularly to discuss our new discoveries and learn from each other.
